When is my payment due?
Payments are due on the 1st of each month.
What time should I have my trash can out?
We ask that everyone have their trash can out by 6:00 AM
Are there any late fees?
There is a grace period up to the 5th of each month. After the 5th, there is a $5 late fee.
If I am behind, will my service be stopped?
If we have not received your payment by the third week, your service will be interrupted. If your trash can is picked up from non-payment, there is a $5 reinstatement fee.
Do you provide a can?
We provide a 96 gallon trash can.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, checks, online payments, or auto-draft.
Who do I make the check payable to?
Make the check payable to P.C.S.C.
Where do I mail my payment to?
You can mail your payment to: P.O. Box 456, Baxter, TN 38544
What day will my trash be picked up?
The day your trash will be picked up depends on what road you live on. We pick up Monday – Thursday. Contact our office if you are not sure.
With the weather being bad, will my trash be picked up today?
We leave any weather updates on our answering machine. If the roads are too icy, we will pick up as soon as we are able to. We do ask that the customers leave their cans out.
If Monday is a holiday will my trash get picked up?
If it is Labor Day or Memorial Day, Monday’s route will be picked up Tuesday. Tuesday will be picked up on Wednesday, Wednesday and Thursday will be picked up on Thursday.

Terms of Service
Trash Cans
Containers are the property of Putnam County Sanitation Company. Please remember you are responsible for the care and cleanliness of the trash container. Upon cancellation of service, the 96 gallon trash container must be clean in order to receive your deposit. $5 will be withheld on all cans for cleaning.
Trash Handling
- We accept only household trash.
- All trash must be in bags. Loose trash will be left.
- Do not put trash bags on the lid.
- Close lids.
- Bags or trash will not be accepted outside of the container.
Garbage Pickup
We will empty only OUR 96 gallon container that we provide and will not pick up any trash outside of the container. Our containers are designed for our trucks to automatically empty the trash into the trucks. If you have missed a trash collection day and it is your fault, you are only allowed our 1 can the following week.
You may request another can for an extra charge plus a deposit. If you have any questions or for pricing, please call.

- We will not accept any kind of cash payments under trash can lids. All payments must be mailed to P.O. Box 456, Baxter TN 38544 or brought to our office at 528 N. Willow Ave., Cookeville TN 38501. Please don’t mail payments to our office address. In addition, please have the correct name and address where the service is provided listed on the check or a piece of paper with the check when mailing in a payment.
- Payments are due on the 1st of every month. There will be a $5.00 late fee after the 5th. If payments are not made, services will be discontinued.
- We ask everyone to have their trash out by 6:00 a.m. If you do not have your trash out in time, please do not call us to come back and collect your trash.
- Holidays: Please call if in doubt and it will be on the answering machine.
- Vacation: We will leave a notice on trash cans the week before vacation time.
- There will be a $10.00 late fee for all returned checks. If you need to postdate a check, please call beforehand.
- If our container is collected for non-payment and you want to resume service later all past due payments must be paid and an additional fee of $5.00.
- Bad weather policy: If roads are not drivable, we will pick up as soon as possible. Please keep in mind that if your road is clear, other roads on that route may not be. Safety comes first.
- Your deposit will be returned to you upon cancellation of services if you cancel at least a day ahead of time and if you do not owe a balance on your account. Deposits will not be returned if you call to cancel service the same day as your pickup or if you owe a balance on your account.
